‘Self-Made’ is often a term used for persons who have reached the pinnacle of their careers through determination and self-elevation, Kennedy ‘Prezedent’ Mensah is no different. He brought himself up professionally to be recognised as one of the world’s foremost authorities on Reggae Music and the Music industry. His extensive music expertise has been utilised around the globe from Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Malawi, Gambia to America, Japan, Greece, France, Italy, Russia to the home of reggae music Jamaica and of course where he resides in Britain.

Daddy Ernie was born in London to Jamaican parents. His father was a renowned sound system operator in the Caribbean community, so music was very much a staple within his household. When he was a teenager he got together with his brother and some close friends to establish his own sound system: President Downbeat. Not only did this bring him kudos it provided an invaluable insight into what it really took to become a top operator and selector.

Hi, I'm Michael Larmond and I was born in Lambeth hospital on the 26th October, 1967. I grew up in Brixton immersed in Reggae music, at home, at the market, in records shops. It left me singing a Reggae beat but I couldn't sing to save my life, but I had fallen in love with the music and the artists. At the time, my inspirations were artists like Yellow Man, Sister Nancie, Ninjah Man, Super Cat, Dennis Brown, Jacob Miller, and of course the legend Bob Marley among many more artist from J.A.
