In December 1995 Richard West aka Mr C opened the night club The End in London with Partner Layo Paskin[ (of Layo & Bushwacka) and AKA bar three years later, which had its 23rd anniversary in December 2018. West is founder and owner of Plink Plonk records, co-founder of End Recordings and co-founder and owner of the Superfreq label. He has recorded under the names Myster-E, Unity 2, Nu Jacks, Bass Bureau, Mantrac, Somnambulist, Animus Amour, Killer Loop, Mr. C and Tom Parris, Mr. C and 16B and the Sycophant Slags. West is best known as frontman of The Shamen with whom he achieved a string of top 10 hits including “Move Any Mountain" and the UK number 1 hit “Ebeenezer Goode”. In 1995 he created the mix album Fantazia DJ Collection 3 – Back to the Old Skool.He has also released mix albums Psycotrance vol 1, X-Mix 6 on Studio K7, Sunterrain 100% Unreleased on his End recordings imprint and most recently Superfreq Express on his Superfreq label. West now records solo as Mr. C and collaborates as the Sycophant Slags with Francis Harris aka Adultnapper, as the Indigo Kidz with Affie Yusuf, with Apendics Shuffle and with Omid 16b. Mr C has released on Poker Flat, Wagon Repair Records, Get Physical Music and Adjunct Audio. He has released a solo EP titled "I'm Gonna Give You Some" and the albums Smell The Coffee and Incidents. He has collaborated with Affie Yusuf, Omid 16b and Apendics Shuffle.[He has remixed for Mikael Stavöstrand and David Scuba, Francis Harris, Xo Chic, Joint Custody & Affie Yusuf. His "Soulfuric" track was released on Alola and his "Liquid Acid" track was released on DJ Pierre's Acid 88 album on Afro Acid.

TRUE HOUSE STORIES W/ CRYSTAL WATERS # 071 - PART 1
Crystal Waters a true icon in house music speaks about her humble beginnings from a young child and being exposed to some of the greatest musicians because of her dad who was a famous jazz musician. She toured with her dad as a young artist and was able to get an education of what it is like to be an artist. As she finished college she takes a job with the State, at the Parole Board. Hungering to write music she hooks up with a keyboard player and they begin to start writing demos on a 4-track recorder. She then proceeds to go to a music conference in her hometown and is attracted to the Basement Boys because of their leather jackets that they were sporting at the time. She hands them her cassette demo and the rest is history. "Gypsy Woman" is created and a deal is signed. Crystal shares with us how her life changed from that moment the single dropped and became a huge pop hit.

Crystal Waters in this part shares with us her life after success and at the same time trying to define herself as a true dance pop artist. She was in the middle of a divorce and battling with her production company and record label over the contracts through her lawyers. As you will hear from herself this is never an easy thing to be dealing with especially when there is a lot of money involved. It's a constant battle to learn the new techniques that are happening in the music business and at the same time trying to balance it all, especially working with different personalities like managers and promotion people, but she finds her way through it all. Eventually, she is dropped from her record label Mercury Records and works on her singing career one song at a time. She discovers new success through working with different producers. One European Italian DJ steals her song and remixes it, adds his name next to her as a feature and it becomes a huge hit. Actually, it hits #1 in 41 countries on the pop charts. Listen to how her song "Destination Calabria" brings another huge success to Crystal in the ever-changing times and new landscape with streaming. This episode is a true history lesson and learning tool all in one.

This vegan sushi is my choice
So I'm going to use wild rice
Most recipes rice vinegar you’ll find
But for my sushi I'm going to use lime
Cook the rice as you normally would
Wild rice takes longer so make it cook good
Add the lime and mix it around
Then put it one side to cool down
The next stage after that
You need a bamboo sushi mat
It helps but if you haven't got that
You've got to improvise with something you've got
Put the bamboo mat down flat
Pon a clean surface tabletop
Put a Nori sheet on top
That’s dried seaweed if you didn't know that
Seaweed in all of its glory
Spread the rice pon top of the Nori
Leave a gap at the top of the sheet
To seal the roll when it's complete
Next is the filler can be whatever
Use your initiative be clever
I'm using avocado and cucumber
Spring onions and sweet pepper
Cut them up and put them together
Place them at the lower quarter
Now roll using your finger
And seal the end with a little water
Last thing get a knife
Cut it once in half then twice
Cut it again until you have 8
Last thing put it on the plate
